JayCut was developed by a group of Swedish students from Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, in December 2006. After a full-fledged trial of almost 6 months, the full public beta version of the application came into existence in June 2007. At the time of its launch, JayCut was available in two languages only, Swedish and English. Later on, in January, support for Polish and Spanish was also extended. Since its inception, the website has undergone various changes to tender a suitable platform for group collaboration. JayCut was acquired by RIM and is no longer available.
